I first knew of Monica when I went to work in Tatarai, Romania in 1993. The villagers and children at the orphanage would ask me about Monica and Andy, and I quickly learned of their fairy tale romance. It was in much more recent times that I came to know Moncia and her family, and to see how that fairytale romance was such a strong partnership twenty years on. In the main I would chat with Monica on facebook. She would talk of Romania and tease my husband, George, about what delicacies she would be eating when she visited. When we did visit Romania to see George's family we would on ocassion bump into Monica's mum, Mioara, and share our news. She was immensly proud of Monca, Andy and Hannah.And indeed what a star Hannah is! We met up on occasion with Sandy, Gabi and family for our Romenglezi meetings to celebrate the dual heritage of our families and shared much fun and laughter. Such a sad loss.
